A LETTER FROM DOWN UNDER
Hi,
My name is Ralph Wright. I'm writing from Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia.
I was born in Nantwich and lived in Shavington until becoming a "Ten Pound Pom" in 1970.
I'm a keen cyclist and have been a member of Crewe Clarion on visits to the UK (1988, 1995, 2007 also a brief visit in 2004). I rode quite a few club TTs and went on many Sunday Club Runs. I remember well many of the riders on the photo on the club website. I was welcomed warmly to the club and have many fond memories. I even have a club jersey (the old yellow one) which I wear proudly over here.
I'm contemplating another UK visit, perhaps in the Olympic year. In the meantime, if any of your members are heading "down under" I would be pleased to see them and introduce them to our cycling scene. I've attached a photo of some of our riders at our local time trial. (I'm on the left. I organise a summer time trial series through Hendry Cycles that runs November-March. It starts and finishes in Barwon Heads where Cadel Evans lives in his off season.) Great to see the club doing well. Please pass on my regards to all.
Ralph Wright
